Rhode Island loves Chelo's! The waterfront venue has a more limited menu than the other Chelo's locations, but more than makes up for it by offering outdoor dining with a view, as well as live entertainment. We went for an early dinner on a somewhat iffy weather Saturday. The outdoor seating had been wiped down and we scored a table just beneath the edge of the outdoor bar's roof, beside a portable heater. It was perfect. The band was setting up for an early 6:00pm start and the rain cleared. Both fire pits were roaring and the backdrop of boats at the docks was nice.
The service was great. We both ordered the 'Gansett Ruben, which is fried fish, Swiss cheese and coleslaw with Russian dressing on seeded rye bread. It was very good, as were the fries. We aren't big drinkers, but nursed our cocktails and stayed to hear the band. The waitress didn't seem to mind and checked on us once in a while, to make sure. It was a nice night. -

Yo shout outs to Chelos for a fantastic restaurant on the water.
Service food atmosphere is fantastic.
20-30 minute wait time to be seated on a Friday night is phenomenal.
Live music is cool with me.
Parking and clean bathrooms as well as a fire place!!
My server was Katelyn, she's great!
I'll definely come back -

We came here on just a lovely late spring day and enjoyed a beautiful lunch out on the patio. It was a very hot and sunny day and all of the umbrellas were up and as we looked at the water we really appreciated the opportunity to sit out there, have a nice meal, and enjoy ourselves.
We had steamers which were fresh and clean and delicious. We also shared an order of stuff quahogs and they were very good as well. Then my friend had a chicken sandwich with bacon and avocado and I had to take a bite because it looked so wonderful and it really was. I had the chowder and clam cakes because I think that they have the best. We were not disappointed at all in our meal or the atmosphere. The service was very good and their prices are very appropriate for whay ypu receive. It was delightful and we will be back often. -

Much better. Go before 6 and it's not too busy. Staff still running around like crazy- so it was an average visit.

Had the lobster roll, clam chowder, quahog and tried a clam from a dinner partners plate. Loved the quahog flavor. These were large and bready. Lobster roll was smaller than I anticipated but full of meat. Clam chowder needed more flavoring or butter. Clam was great.
